Today I had the privilege of discussing the importance of using your voice with Thor’s class. A portion of his second-grade class was some of my first-grade illustrators, and being able to explain why this story meant so much to me was such an honor.
Ton left me a voicemail on July 16th, 2016, not knowing that his voice and message would one day inspire a children's book.

His voice turned into my voice.
My voice turns into their pictures.
Their pictures help tell a story of how different is beautiful and that sometimes our bodies fail us, but that does not mean we should forget them.
