ALS

Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis

Lou Gehrig's Disease

Motor Neuron Disease

a disease with many names still ends
in death 100% of the time

Layman's terms- a terminal disease with no cure that affects nerves in your brain and spinal cord.

Sabrina's terms- a terminal disease with no cure that makes you paralyzed, stealing muscle by muscle.

ALS does not care if you are young or old, your skin color,  where or if you went to college. ALS does not care if you ran a marathon or binged watched Netflix. ~90% of the time, ALS is sporadic, like winning the unluckiest lotto. ~10% of the time, you can have familial ALS, where a mutation in your genes continues to be passed down the family tree.

Every 90 minutes, a family's life changes from ALS they are either being diagnosed or passing away.
